Tibor Misovicz, Secretary of the foundation maintaining Corvinus University receives prestigious state honor

On the occasion of the national holiday commemorating the 1848/49 Revolution and War of Independence, President Tamás Sulyok once again presented high-ranking state honors this year.  

Tibor Misovicz, Secretary of the Maecenas Universitatis Corvini Foundation and former Deputy Secretary of State, was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit. He received the honor in recognition of his work on behalf of Hungarian minorities abroad, as well as his high-quality and dedicated contributions to Hungarian higher education and public administration. 

Tibor Misovicz was born in 1962 in Szolnok. He graduated in 1986 from the predecessor of Corvinus University, the Karl Marx University of Economics, majoring in Industrial Organization and Sociology. In 1992, he earned an MSc degree through the Resource Management programme at the University of Edinburgh. First, he taught at the Department of Agricultural Sociology at Gödöllő University of Agricultural Sciences, and later at the Department of Business Economics at the Budapest University of Economic Sciences. He served as Deputy President for Economic Affairs at the Office for Hungarians Beyond the Borders, ran his own business, and held leadership positions on the supervisory boards of several companies and civil organizations, as well as on the board of the Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation. 

He worked for years as a Deputy State Secretary responsible for financial management and administrative affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and later at the Ministry of Justice.
