Corvinus University of Budapest has retained its place on the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) international ranking of full-time MBA programmes, remaining the only Hungarian institution on the list.

In the QS full-time MBA ranking, published on 17 September, Corvinus was placed 54th in Europe and in the 151–200. place worldwide. The list assessed 389 programmes across the globe. Corvinus is not only the sole Hungarian university included, but also shares first place in Central and Eastern Europe alongside schools from Croatia and Estonia.

To be considered, universities must hold either of the three major international accreditations (AACSB, AMBA, EFMD), or have been rated at least 3 or more QS Stars, offer predominantly in-person full-time teaching, and have an average cohort size of at least 20 students. The evaluation covered five key aspects: employability, entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes, return on investment, thought leadership, and diversity.

“We are proud to be included in the ranking of one of the world’s most prestigious higher education organisations – an achievement shared by only three institutions in the region. This recognition confirms not only the high quality of Corvinus’s full-time MBA programme but also our growing weight as an international player in higher education. Thanks to this, our students gain the knowledge and experience they need to succeed in every corner of the global labour market,” said Bruno van Pottelsberghe, Rector of Corvinus University of Budapest.

The full-time MBA at Corvinus trains students through the analysis of comprehensive business projects. The programme combines traditional fields such as finance, marketing and human resources with a sustainability approach, while placing strong emphasis on complex problem-solving, soft skills development and quantitative methods. It is designed for mid-level managers with at least three years of work experience.

The United States has the strongest presence on the QS list, with 124 programmes ranked. American universities also occupy the top four global positions, led by the University of Pennsylvania. In Europe, 102 institutions were included, with HEC Paris taking the top spot on the continent and fifth place globally.

Corvinus’s Executive MBA has also achieved outstanding results: in February it was ranked 20th worldwide and 8th in Europe in the Executive MBA category of QS’s international business education rankings.
