The event will be hosted by Costa Rica (Cartago) on 5-9 December.

We talked to Sára about her trip in an interview:

How long have you been promoting healthy lifestyles and sport at university?

In the autumn of 2020, I was admitted to the Student Union’s Event Management area and that led me to collaboration with the Physical Education Sports Centre. Since then I have been involved in many projects and, as the university’s sports ambassador, I have been drawing on the experiences of other universities since March to make our university’s sports life more diversified.

How did you find this opportunity?

In 2021 I successfully completed the FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy, which unfortunately was held online in the summer due to the virus. Subsequently, from September, I, and my ambassador partner Marcell Horváth, created content for the Instagram page of the Hungarian University-College Sports Association under the title “Athlete of the Week”.

What sport-related events have you been involved in as an organiser?

I was the project manager of the Corvinus Autumn Sports Week as the Events Coordinator of the Student Union’s Event Management Area last autumn. I played an active role in the preparation and implementation of the Sports Week events this spring, as both a coordinator and an ambassador.

At which international events have you represented the university and Hungary?

As a Student Ambassador:

  • 2020/2021 FISU Young Volunteer Leaders Academy
  • 2022 HealthyLifestyle4All (two-year campaign of the European Commission)

As a volunteer:

  • European Universities Games 2022 (Lodz)

What is FISU and what is the World Forum?

The International University Sports Federation (FISU – Fédération Internationale du Sport Universitaire) is responsible for organising and managing sports competitions for student athletes aged 17-28 worldwide. It was founded in 1949 and currently has 174 member federations on 5 continents.

The FISU World Forum provides a unique opportunity for students, officials and other key partners involved in university sports to meet with FISU member federations.

The FISU World Forum, which will last for five days, usually focuses on one main theme and several sub-themes, each moderated by a speaker specialised in that theme.  Workshops and seminars are held every day on each sub-theme.

Who else will attend from Hungary?

Apart from me, Blanka Benyó from Eszterházy Károly Catholic University and Gréta Borda from Széchenyi István University will participate in the event from Hungary..

What does it mean for the Corvinus students that you represent our country and the university there?

After the trip, I would implement the knowledge and experience gained at the World Forum in the everyday life of our university.
