Professor György Hajnal among the members of UN’s Committee of Experts on Public Administration

The Department of Public Policy is pleased to announce that professor György Hajnal, Head of the Department has been selected as a member of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA).

CEPA is a technical advisory committee that works under the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It brings together 24 independent experts (nominated by the UN Secretary-General and approved by ECOSOC) to provide policy advice on strengthening public institutions, good governance, and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda (the Sustainable Development Goals).

ECOSOC is one of the UN’s principal organs and the central platform for coordinating international economic and social policy and advancing the SDGs. It is the forum through which expert recommendations like CEPA’s feed into global policy discussions.

In CEPA, prof. Hajnal, based on his academic and expert experience, will help shape UN policy recommendations and practical guidance countries can use to build more effective, transparent and accountable public services — work that has direct impact on citizens and on progress toward the SDGs.
