Premium economic data platform becomes available for free with a Corvinus email address
The Observatory of Economic Complexity (OEC) is a comprehensive and interactive data platform associated, among others, with the work of César Hidalgo, a researcher of Corvinus and founder and scientific director of the Center for Collective Learning (CCL) research group at CIAS. The platform uses impressive data visualizations to present how international trade, economic structures, and relationships between countries function. It is not just a database, but a knowledge platform that helps users better understand global economic processes—offering a significant competitive advantage in both learning and research.
The platform can support members of the university community in several ways:
- when writing a thesis or publication, you can rely on trustworthy, up-to-date data;
- as an instructor, you can make complex relationships more accessible with clear and engaging charts and visualizations;

What does PRO access offer?
Some features of the OEC are only available with a subscription. However, by registering with your Corvinus email address (@stud.uni-corvinus.hu vagy @uni-corvinus.hu), you can now have full PRO access, which:
- provides complete access to data and visualizations,
- enables deeper analytical capabilities,
- offers advanced export and research tools.
After registration, PRO access is valid until December 31, 2027.
