Our colleague Petra Berényi was honoured by the Tempus Public Foundation at the national meeting of International Coordi

This year’s National Meeting of International Coordinators was not only an opportunity for professional dialogue and the exchange of best practices, but also a moment to recognize outstanding achievements. We are especially proud that the work of one of our colleagues was honoured with a national award.

Between 26 and 28 November 2025, Neumann János University hosted one of the largest meetings in Hungarian higher education, the national meeting of international coordinators organised by the Tempus Public Foundation, which was also attended by our colleagues from the Academic Affairs, Student Finance and International Mobility teams. Participants could choose from more than 20 programme elements, including roundtable discussions, sections, networking events and workshops, with nearly 40 speakers sharing their thoughts over the three days.

A special highlight of the event for our university was that this year, Petra Berényi, a member of our International Mobility unit, who graduated from Corvinus University of Budapest and has been strengthening our team since 2023, won the CEEPUS Emerging Excellence Award, which is presented annually by the Tempus Public Foundation to a Hungarian university coordinator who has made an outstanding contribution to the success of the programme.

Gábor Kamocsa, head of the higher education cooperation group at the Tempus Public Foundation, praised Petra’s work in his speech with the following words:

“One of our fond memories of her is that after the onboarding consultation held for her, she shared the information with the lecturers so enthusiastically that the university immediately joined three new CEEPUS networks. She provides every new network coordinator with detailed, accurate information, showing maximum patience even towards lecturers who ask a lot of questions. She does not hesitate to supplement her knowledge with information obtained from our colleagues. She boldly and regularly asks us questions and contributes a lot to our joint work with her good insights. We enjoy reading her reports on LinkedIn about network meetings and international competitions in which her students achieve great success. She also tirelessly represents the programme at institutional events. She helps visiting scholarship holders with accommodation and meals, and also provide them with mentoring at the institution. She informs outgoing students about opportunities through a variety of channels, and then prepare successful applicants for their trip abroad, sharing practical and professional information about the host university with them. As a result of her work, the number of CEEPUS scholarship holders coming to Corvinus University of Budapest has increased more than fivefold.

Congratulations to Petra on her recognition!
