In 2026, the Budapest Corvinus University once again hosted the national final of the German-language geography competition (Landesfinale in Erdkunde). A total of 34 talented secondary school students from grades 7–8 and 9–11 took part in the prestigious event, competing in a written test.

The DSG – German Management Training Programme – also played an active role in organizing the competition. Participants were welcomed by the DSG’s director, Dr. Krisztina Keller, before the event. After the competition, she introduced the university and the German-language programs through an interactive Kahoot quiz.

The results were announced following a guided campus tour, giving students not only the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge but also to become more familiar with the university’s C Campus and its atmosphere.

From 2026, DSG measures the environmental impact of its events, in line with its commitment to making them more sustainable and reducing negative effects on ecosystems. The initiative aims not only to lower greenhouse gas emissions and waste but also to promote environmental awareness among participants.

The sustainability indicators of the recent geography competition illustrate the initial results: 49 participants took part, covering a total of 11,900 kilometres round-trip. The estimated emissions from transportation amounted to 1.2 tonnes of CO₂-equivalent, while food waste was kept to just 0.1–0.3 kilograms.
