The 2026 Senate elections at Corvinus have concluded: final results announced

The new Senate is going to hold its first meeting soon.
Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

Due to changes in legislation and the expiration of the mandate of the previous Senate, the university was required to elect a new Senate by October 31, 2026. In July, Rector Bruno van Pottelsberghe requested an ad-hoc committee to prepare the new structure. After several months of preparation, the committee proposed a 33-member Senate based on an institute and single-list concept. The Senate approved the concept and the amendments to the Organizational and Operational Procedures (OOP) on September 22. Following approval by the Board of Trustees, the Rector ordered the Senate elections that took place between October 2 and October 30, 2026.

The Rector of the university, Bruno van Pottelsberghe, is an ex officio member and also the chair of the Senate.
