Corvinus is once again looking for the most promising startup ideas this year, with which our students can represent the University at the Danube Cup competition in Vienna.

The partner universities of the Danube Cup international network will organize their startup pitch competition for students for the 6th time in 2022. The competition is organized by WU Wien as part of the Entrepreneurship Avenue and the ViennaUP! festivals. Both Corvinus and BME (Budapest University of Technology and Economics) can delegate two teams to the international final.

The national round will be held on the 29th of April, 2022 at the Q building of BME, where the organizers will select the four teams that will participate in the final in Vienna.

Startup teams, who follow the international business trends, have already validated their idea in some form, and want to develop a lot and gain a wide-range of contacts are expected to apply for the Hungarian competition until 19th April.

To enter the pitch competition, at least one member of the teams must be an active student of Corvinus or BME.

The final will be held on the 31st of May 2022 at the Vienna University of Economics (WU Wien), where the pitches will be presented to an international jury and audience. For contestants, the competition is an excellent networking opportunity, as well as an opportunity to gain international experience, mentor and win cash prizes.

From the 28th of February to the 14th of April 2022, the Hungarian training team of the Danube Cup initiative organized a series of consultation and preparation workshops for young people interested in the competition, called Startup VIP, in order to participate as effectively as possible. The instructors, lecturers and professional mentors of the workshops are the specialists of BME, Corvinus and Startup Business Launchpad, who are dealing with business start-up and startup business development. Participants in the training, supported by the National Talent Programme, were able to learn how to articulate their business concept and value proposition, support their ideas with market research, and present their ideas in English.

Participation in the preparation workshops is not a condition for applying to the competition. The organizers are waiting for the application of Corvinus or BME teams from all study programs, university courses or external accelerators.

Application deadline: 19th of April, 2022
