Our lecturer, Jeney László Botond, has received the Excellent TDK Organizer Award

This year, 40 professionals received the Excellent TDK Organizer Award, established by the Országos Tudományos Diákköri Tanács (OTDT), in recognition of their outstanding work.

The event was held on 9 February 2026 in the Reading Room of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. At the ceremony, the awardees were welcomed by Tamás Freund, President of the Magyar Tudományos Akadémia and Chief Patron of the OTDK, as well as by László Mátyus, President of the OTDT. Following the award presentation, Péter Szendrő, Honorary President of the OTDT, delivered a toast. 

The recognition, founded in 2013 by the Presidency of the OTDT, may be awarded to institutional and faculty TDT presidents, secretaries, coordinators and organizers of the OTDK, as well as to staff members working for the supporters and partner organizations of the OTDT and the OTDK. The award honors those who perform outstanding organizational and support work in the preparation, implementation, and documentation of TDK conferences, assist in identifying supervisors, support students’ involvement in research, and contribute to the successful organization of the National Scientific Students’ Associations Conference. 

Dr. Jeney László Botond teaches and conducts research in regional and urban development at the Department of Economic Geography and Urban Development, Institute for Sustainable Development, Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem. He plays a key role in the Scientific Students’ Associations movement: he actively supports students in their research preparation, supervises their work, and contributes to their preparation for both institutional and national competitions. Since July 1, 2021, he has served as the TTDT officer (chair) of the Social Sciences field and is also a delegated member of the ETDT.
