III. Inter-University Relay Race in Budapest Organized by Corvinus University

Corvinus University organized the Inter-University Relay Race in Budapest for the third time, with the aim of establishing a new tradition. The race lasted one hour at the BME track and field stadium (15 April 2026, 17:00–18:00), where a mandatory baton exchange took place at the end of every 400-meter lap.  

Teams from five universities registered for the race: ELTE, SOTE, TE, BME, and Corvinus, which we were very pleased about. The five universities entered teams of 6–10 members, resulting in a record total of 44 participants. 

I. place: BME – 47 laps (18,800 m) 

II. place: Corvinus – 46 laps (18,400 m) 

III. place: TE – 44 laps (17,600 m) 

IV. place: SOTE – 42 laps (16,800 m) 

V. place: ELTE – 40 laps (16,000 m) 

The race took place in a great atmosphere, with beautiful weather and a friendly, family-like vibe. The participants constantly cheered each other on. The running teams discussed the order of the baton exchanges among themselves, in line with individual performances and the team’s overall success. Most runners completed 5–7 laps. 

We hope that even more universities will join our initiative next year!
