Three Corvinus Projects Reach the Finals of the QS Reimagine Education Awards
The QS Reimagine Education Awards is an international competition for innovation in higher education, recognising initiatives that are shaping the future of teaching and learning. The competition showcases projects that introduce new approaches to areas including enhancing the learning experience, developing future skills, strengthening universities’ societal engagement and advancing sustainability.
This year, three Corvinus initiatives were selected for the international QS Reimagine Education Awards shortlist from more than 2,200 projects: the Corvinus Science Shop in the Power of Partnerships category, the Corvinus Swap Shop in the Sustainability Education Action category, and Navigator in the Nurturing Employability category.
Three Different Paths to an Innovative University
The three projects operate in different areas but share a common goal: supporting Corvinus students and the wider university community.
The Corvinus Science Shop, under the professional leadership of Réka Matolay, strengthens collaboration between the University and society. It connects real-world challenges faced by civil society and community partners with university teaching and research, giving students the opportunity to develop and apply their knowledge while addressing genuine societal challenges.
The Corvinus Swap Shop, an initiative by Kevin Jackson and Katalin Ásványi, Dean for Sustainability, brings sustainability and circular thinking closer to the everyday life of the university community. The initiative not only encourages the reuse of items but also raises awareness of more conscious consumption and more sustainable university operations.
Navigator is a digital life-path planning and student support programme developed by Corvinus, under the professional leadership of Károly Vizdák and Zsolt Főző at the Centre for Talent Management. It helps students gain a better understanding of their strengths, make more informed choices among the opportunities available at the University, and plan the next steps in their professional development and career. The programme combines digital tools with personal mentoring.
International Recognition for Educational Innovation at Corvinus
Being shortlisted is in itself significant international recognition, demonstrating that developments taking place at Corvinus are gaining visibility in the international higher education innovation landscape.
The QS Reimagine Education Awards identifies and evaluates initiatives across a wide range of areas that rethink the practice of teaching and learning. Its current categories cover areas including learning design, experiential learning, future skills development, university partnerships and sustainability education.
The combined success of the Science Shop, the Swap Shop and Navigator also demonstrates the diverse ways in which educational innovation is taking place at Corvinus – from working together with community partners and promoting sustainability awareness to personalised student life-path planning. The international success of the three projects also recognises the work of the Corvinus faculty members, support services staff and professional communities behind these initiatives.
The next step is the Reimagine Education Conference and Awards, taking place in London from 6–8 December, where the three Corvinus projects will continue their journey among the leading initiatives in the international field.
