Semi-final: Semmelweis University – Közgáz SC and DSK 54 – 49 (18-7, 17-15, 9-26, 10-11).
Team members: Petra Csoma, Boglárka Földi, Blanka Juhász Angéla, Virág Anna Kiss, Orsolya Marton, Anett Munkácsi Enikő, Vera Németh, Zsuzsa Sára Szanthoffer (team captain), Brigitta Szántó, Lili Zsámár and Panna Zsámár.
Coach: Kata Németh: “We made things difficult for ourselves as the excitement outweighed the nerves. We got frustrated in the first half, with our poor shooting percentage we couldn’t convert the balls we scored. Our mistakes were punished by SOTE playing almost flawlessly, but we came into the second half with a sense of purpose. I was really looking forward to it and I’m very happy that we can overcome the lows and play a final again. Both teams put up a great fight and I congratulate them.”
Final: Közgáz SC and DSK – UNI Győr SzESE 45 – 84 (17-24, 7-25, 12-9, 7-25)
Team members: Petra Csoma, Boglárka Földi, Blanka Juhász Angéla, Virág Anna Kiss, Orsolya Marton, Anett Munkácsi Enikő, Vera Németh, Zsuzsa Sára Szanthoffer (team captain), Brigitta Szántó, Lili Zsámár and Panna Zsámár.
Coach: Kata Németh: “I’m sorry that we didn’t manage the bravura, I was really hoping for a closer match. My strongest centre was injured in the first attack, so she played the whole final. I think there is more in the girls than that, it would have been nice to see it show. We fought until the last minute and that was enough today. I am proud of the girls for not giving up. Second place for us is an incredible achievement, congratulations to my team! And of course to Győr for winning the MEFOB final!”
2 of our players made the Women’s All Star five: Terka Dúl (TFSE), Petra Csoma (Közgáz SC and DSK), Réka Dombai (UNI Győr), Bernadett Vígh (TFSE), Angéla Juhász (Közgáz SC and DSK).
