2024-07-24 18:28:00

Participants from five countries had a memorable week together at a professional event from 17-21 June.
Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

This year’s staff week title was ’Building tomorrow: Sustainable Development Goals. The participants, hailing from countries such as Poland, France, Greece, the Netherlands, and Romania, brought a diverse range of university backgrounds to the table. During their visit, they were introduced to the internationalization initiatives of Corvinus University. They learned about our mobility programs and gained an understanding of the operations of different organizational units.

The event was opened by Péter Fehér, Head of International Relations and Accreditations. Sustainable economic issues and creative sustainable solutions at Corvinus were presented by Chancellor Ákos Domahidi. The sessions were held at Gellért Campus, which is not only an impressive location, but a living example of our green projects. Professors of the Institute of Sustainable Development provided valuable insights into several topics that significantly impact our world both now and in the future, including the story of the Corvinus Farmers’ Market which has become a symbol of our commitment to community and sustainability. COLLAB Mentoring brought us the interactive „2030 SDGs Game” which was both fun and revealing for the participants. Beside the core program, our guests also had the chance to get familiar with Hungary’s history and culture and to visit the city’s highlights.

The event was organized by International Scholarship Programmes and Partnerships (ISPP) with support and contribution from various partner units and academic stakeholders. “Great. Playful. Inspiring. I can’t imagine it better organised”; „Everything was excellent! Don’t change anything!” – The feedback from participants was very positive, both in terms of professional and community programmes. They found the networking and exchange of good practices extremely useful and relevant.

Overall, the week was very successful and memorable. Both the guests and the hosts gained new knowledge and skills. The event helped strengthen our international connections and demonstrated Corvinus University’s dedication to fostering sustainable development and innovative practices.
