He earned his teaching degree in accounting and statistics in 1970 at the Marx Károly University of Economics. His first and only workplace for 43 years was the university’s Department of Accounting, where he earned his doctorate in 1971 and became an assistant lecturer, then an adjunct, and later an associate professor.
For decades, he instilled in his students and colleagues the values of integrity, honesty, and adherence to written and unwritten rules. He was an icon of accounting. He succeeded in making generations fall in love with accounting and became a role model for many of us through his precision, unparalleled work ethic, confidence, decisiveness, and thoughtfulness.
The Chamber of Hungarian Auditors also recognized his several decades of work in training and examining auditor candidates, as well as his contributions to the continuing education of certified accountants, his professional, public, and social activities, and his efforts to enhance the reputation of the auditing profession, awarding him the Dr. András Bartók Nagy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.
We will forever keep his memory in our hearts!
