Márton Zsuráfszky presented his doctoral research at the University of Oxford

Márton Zsuráfszky, a second-year PhD student at the Department of Public Policy, recently presented his doctoral research, “Strategic (in)Action – A Configurational Analysis of Education Policy Change in Europe”, at the Department for Continuing Education of the University of Oxford.
Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

The presentation explored the conditions under which governments decide to initiate major public policy reforms, as well as the circumstances that may lead them to refrain from implementing such changes. The research pays particular attention to developments in education policy and their political and institutional context.

The presentation was followed by an engaging professional discussion on the development of the Hungarian education system, public service reform, and the challenges of policy change. The event provided an opportunity to present the research findings in an international academic setting and contributed to broader discussions on education policy reform.

For the Department, it is important that doctoral students actively engage in international academic collaborations and research networks. They would like to thank Szilvia Schmitsek (Module Convenor) and the University of Oxford for the invitation and for providing an opportunity for professional exchange and academic dialogue. The event was organised by Oxford Lifelong Learning, University of Oxford.
