Students from Corvinus University of Budapest — Jakov Velkovski, Nikola Meshkovski, Daniil Yarovoy, Sergiu Manic, Nurbakyt Myrzagulov and Dairbek Dauletkozha — returned home as winners of the European Digital Innovation Incubator, held on 10 June in Croatia.

The aim of the competition was to showcase the student’s talent and help them develop their knowledge in the fields of ICT, finance, healthcare, media and energy.

According to the students, the team came together very easily. Three of them had already spent a lot of time together at the Gellért Campus dormitory, where a close friendship formed between them. The other members joined because of their shared interests. As one of them put it:

“We all clicked easily as a team.”

Originally, they were preparing for a smaller competition, but through the Corvinus Case Track Community (CCTC), they heard about this great opportunity and decided to take part without any help from teachers. “The competition was both a challenge and an opportunity to test ourselves and see whether everything we’ve learned at Corvinus could stand up to international competition.” one of them said.

Out of more than 1,200 participants and 300 teams, only 36 made it to the finals. The Corvinus team was awarded the General Award after successfully solving a one-hour, high-impact case.

For the team, this was about much more than just winning a prize. It was about friendship, personal growth, and showing that with the right mindset and by supporting each other, students from different parts of the world can achieve something truly meaningful together.
