Corvinus TDK Spring 2026 Season Marks Another Year of Strong Participation
Opening Remarks and Reflections
The participants were welcomed by Judit Nagy, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, and Ariel Mitev, Chair of the ETDT.
In their speeches, they highlighted not only the achievements of this year’s season but also the long-term significance of the TDK programme. Several university leaders and academics reflected on their own experiences, recalling how participation in scientific students’ associations had played an important role in their professional development. More than a competition, the TDK has for generations supported students in developing a research-oriented mindset and a commitment to academic excellence.
TDK Spring 2026 Season — By the Numbers
The Spring 2026 competition season once again attracted strong participation, with students submitting nearly 300 papers across 41 sections, including 7 English-language, 20 Hungarian-language and 14 mixed-language sections. The evaluation process involved 150 reviewers and 28 student jury members, all of whom contributed to the successful organisation of the competition through their voluntary work and professional commitment.
The jury awarded a total of 131 prizes, including 53 first-place, 33 second-place and 45 third-place awards. Outstanding performances were also recognised with special awards in the Marketing, Media and Design Communication, Project Management, and Microeconomics and Competition Policy sections. In addition, three students received the ERS TDK Award for their work in the field of sustainability.
Best Paper Awards and TDK Publication Excellence Awards
One of the highlights of the gala was the presentation of the annual Best Paper Awards. The award recognised 12 students and their supervisors for the most outstanding TDK projects of the academic year.
In addition, four TDK Publication Excellence Awards were presented to students who further developed their research beyond the TDK framework and disseminated their findings through academic publications. Their work has contributed not only to their own professional development but also to the international visibility of the university’s research achievements.
Special Thanks to Participants and Organisers
The ETDT congratulates all participants, prize winners and award recipients for their outstanding achievements and commitment throughout the academic year. Special thanks go to the supervisors, section secretaries, jury members, reviewers, as well as the students and student organisations involved in preparation activities, whose contributions were essential to the success of the season.
The TDK programme will continue in the next academic year, with one of its key milestones being the National Scientific Students’ Associations Conference (OTDK), to be held in spring 2027. Students who have earned nominations this year will have the opportunity to represent Corvinus University of Budapest at the national competition.
We hope that the values embodied by the TDK programme — curiosity, academic rigour and commitment to the research community — will continue to inspire participants throughout their future studies and professional careers.
