The 6th Ács Antal Case Study Competition was held in Debrecen, gathering teams from Hungarian and international universities alike. The YN Consulting team from Corvinus University of Budapest secured the gold medal, establishing Corvinus as the defending champions and setting the stage for the title defense that would follow the year after.

The event, traditionally organized by the Faculty of Economics at the University of Debrecen, once again brought together teams from multiple Hungarian higher education institutions, alongside international participants. Among all competing teams, YN Consulting stood out with a performance that earned them the top spot.

The Corvinus team members — Luca Németh, Dóri Gaál, Gergő Kelemen, and Zsigmond Váradi — combined strong academic foundations with targeted preparation ahead of the competition. Their strategic thinking was sharpened through coursework and practical case-solving exercises, equipping them well for the challenges ahead.

This year’s case was provided by Jabil, a global manufacturing and supply chain solutions company. The task centered around a capacity planning challenge, requiring teams to develop a well-grounded, data-informed strategy to address operational constraints and support sustainable production planning. The complexity of the case demanded both analytical rigor and a clear understanding of real-world manufacturing dynamics.

“The Jabil case pushed us to think beyond textbook frameworks and really engage with the operational realities of a large-scale manufacturing environment,” said the Team, reflecting on the depth the challenge required from the team.

For the team, the competition was not only a test of technical and strategic knowledge but also a valuable professional experience. Each member brought their own strengths to the table, and their collaborative approach proved to be a decisive factor in their success.

The gold medal won by the Corvinus Team is a reflection of both the team’s dedication and the quality of education at Corvinus University. Special thanks go to the instructors and advisors who supported the team throughout their preparation.

This victory laid the foundation for what has since become a tradition — proving that Corvinus teams are not just capable of winning, but of doing so consistently.
