Corvinus success at the EDHEC Sailing Cup in Normandy

Students from Corvinus University of Budapest took part for the first time in one of the world’s largest university sporting events, achieving a notable result on their debut.

The Corvinus Sailing Society was established in September 2025 with the aim of enabling students to learn sailing even if they have not practised the sport since childhood. Alongside building a strong community, the organisation seeks to provide its members with genuine learning opportunities.

Between 18 and 26 April 2026, one of the world’s largest student sporting events, the EDHEC Sailing Cup, was held in Normandy. The prestigious international competition saw the Budapest Corvinus University team take part for the first time this year; with the support of the university, it was among the first Hungarian participants. The team finished 19th overall out of 44 entrants, and 12th among university teams out of 38.
