Fort he seventh year now, the CheckINN Tourism Innovation Competition brings together university students to pitch ideas aimed at renewing and rethinking tourism. This year, entrants could submit business plans in three themes: artificial intelligence, programme and cultural tourism around Lake Balaton, and active tourism.

The competition ran in three rounds. In the first stage, applicants presented their ideas in a three-minute video. Afterwards, ten teams, selected by a panel of seven professional judges, took part in an intensive three-month development programme. The preparation was supported by tourism and marketing expert H. Horváth Orsolya, tourism consultant Hegedűs Attila, and Katona Zoltán, Managing Director of the MORGENS digital agency, who helped teams develop a business plan of nearly 20 pages.

Teams that reached the final presented their concepts live on 15 January in front of the jury and an audience of around 100. Winners were announced by category based on the combined scores achieved across the three rounds.

The active tourism category was won by the REVITA project, created through the joint work of Gergő Péter Dudás, Le Ho Thanh Ha and Bianka Réka Barkó, students of Corvinus University of Budapest and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.

The team set out to create a one-of-a-kind edutainment attraction in Hungary. At the heart of the concept is the country’s first “living body map”: a health park combining indoor and outdoor elements, designed to encourage physical activity through visual solutions and playful, hands-on tools. Through the interactive experience, visitors can explore how their own bodies work in a direct and engaging way.

Congratulations to the team on this outstanding achievement.
