Corvinus Rectors at One Table

The lunch took place on 25 March at the Corvinus Faculty Club. The invitation was accepted by Professors Csaba Csáki, Attila Chikán, Tamás Mészáros, and Lajos Szabó. Zsolt Rostoványi and Tibor Palánkai were unable to attend due to illness, while Előd Takáts and András Lánczi had other commitments.
Key topics of the discussion in spring 2026 included the Bridge Strategy adopted last year, the day-to-day efforts to implement it, and the steps needed to advance internationalisation, multidisciplinarity and a student-centred approach. The Rector and his guests discussed the importance of research excellence and academic freedom, as well as how Corvinus can maintain its leading role in economics.
Welcoming his predecessors, Bruno van Pottelsberghe said: “It is both a responsibility and a privilege to lead an institution shaped over decades by outstanding rectors. I am grateful that the current achievements and future ambitions of Corvinus can build on the decisions you have made.”
The rectors of Corvinus agreed to meet from time to time to discuss the most important issues affecting the university.
