The BIG SEE Award honors outstanding architectural and design achievements in the region; several Hungarian projects were successful in the 2026 competition. Among the award-winning Hungarian projects, the Gellért Campus received international professional recognition as the new educational center of Corvinus University.

The Octogon architecture portal reported on the award in its summary presenting this year’s Hungarian winners. The BigSEE Award was established by the Ljubljana-based foundation Zavod Big. The acronym “SEE” stands for South-East Europe. The award aims to showcase and recognize outstanding achievements and works in architecture, interior design, and the creative industries. Over the years, the BigSEE Architecture Award has grown into one of Central Europe’s most significant architectural distinctions and a global movement that celebrates excellence in architecture and design.

This is not the first major professional recognition for the Gellért Campus. In 2024, the building received the “Green Investment of the Year” award at the Green Awards, presented during the Sustainable World Conference and awarded to the project by Portfolio. In addition, the campus was honored with the “Green Building of the Year 2024” Special Award by the National Association of Construction Contractors (ÉVOSZ). The development also received a commendation in the Budapest Architectural Excellence Award 2025 competition, organized by the Municipality of Budapest and the Budapest Chamber of Architects.
