Corvinus Future Talks: dialogue begins on the University’s operating model

A wide-ranging consultation process has begun at Corvinus with University staff on the institution’s future operating model, supported by a discussion paper.
Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

The expected changes facing Hungarian higher education are creating a new situation for Corvinus as well. The University’s leadership has therefore launched a broad consultation process with key members of the university community. Discussions have begun with the teaching and research community, service areas, heads of institutes, the Professorial Body, the Senate, the Corvinus Employee Council, representatives of the trade union, and the leaders of the Students’ Union and the Doctoral Students’ Union. Student-led forums will also be held on the topic.

The discussion paper prepared for consultation is available here. One important area of the expected changes will be the maintainer structure. In this process, Corvinus aims to further align the University’s governance model with the practices of successful institutions in the international higher education market, while also meeting EU expectations. At the same time, the University seeks to preserve and further develop its domestic and international achievements and financial stability, in line with the institutional Bridge Strategy adopted in 2025 following broad consultation.

The shared reflection is also supported by the Corvinus Future Talks internal consultation series, which gives all staff members the opportunity to participate and provide feedback. The staff forums are complemented by parallel student consultations, bringing in the perspectives of the University’s most important stakeholders. The University’s leadership is open to all proposals and believes that the most suitable model should be identified and represented together with the entire Corvinus community.
