2024-04-03 10:53:00

For the second time, the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NRDIO) organized the Research Management Professional Day, this time jointly with Corvinus University, on the Fővám Square campus. More than 70 research management experts from 35 institutions - universities and research centres from across the country - attended the event on 20 March.

Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

István Kónya, Dean of the Corvinus Doctoral Schools, highlighted in his welcoming speech that the professional day was an excellent reflection of Corvinus University’s commitment to creating an excellent scientific and research ecosystem. This ecosystem could not function effectively without the dedicated work of research managers. Research management is a dynamically evolving field that has become increasingly important in recent years in research performing organisations, especially due to the growing competition for international research funding. The profession is constantly evolving and specialising, and the role of competent professionals is becoming increasingly prominent.

At the event, Borbála Schenk, Head of the International Department at NRDIO, gave an overview of the international portfolio of the NRDI. Judit Fekete, Head of the European Research Grant Office (ERGO), presented the research and grant management ecosystem at Corvinus University and the latest efforts and achievements in the field.

Several institutions shared their good practices in the field of research support services, research proposal preparation and project management, including the University of Pannonia, the HUN-REN Research Centre for Social Sciences, Bay Zoltán Nonprofit Ltd. and the HÉTFA Research Institute.

Participants also discussed in a workshop the key factors for success in navigating the international funding landscape.

The next Research Management Professional Day will be organized by NRDIO in the autumn, inviting colleagues from all national research performing institutions to exchange experiences, share up-to-date information on international funding schemes, and discuss challenges and hot topics in research management in Hungary and globally.
