On November 5, Corvinus held its traditional awards ceremony, honoring the University’s most outstanding colleagues for their exceptional achievements in either academic or service areas.

In his welcome speech, Rector Bruno van Pottelsberghe reflected on the shared achievements of the past year. In the 2025/2026 academic year, Corvinus exceeded its university-wide goals, achieving a 107% fulfillment rate on its institutional KPIs. Key contributors to this result included the growth in the number of international students, stronger research performance, and earning the EQUIS accreditation, which successfully completed the attainment of the Triple Crown title.

The Rector emphasized that excellence manifests in many forms at the university, with individual areas reinforcing one another, and it is precisely this collective effort that drives the institution’s success. While organizational structures and decision-making processes may evolve, and whatever new chapter may begin in the university’s history, certain core values will continue to define Corvinus. These include a commitment to excellence, the recognition of outstanding achievements, and respect for one another’s work. This year’s ceremony is also a reaffirmation of these very values.

“I would like to thank all of my colleagues for their dedicated work over the past year, and I express my special gratitude to today’s awardees. I am confident that their exemplary performance will continue to serve as an inspiration for the entire university community in the future,” concluded Bruno van Pottelsberghe.

The opening speech was followed by a short musical program: the performance by the cello duo Dénes Szabó and Marcel Lecky showcased the versatile sound world of the cello, as well as a unique fusion of classical and popular music.

At the ceremony, 48 colleagues received their awards. The commendations for the awardees have been compiled on this page:
