Construction works to start at Gellért Campus on Monday

Starting May 19, comprehensive internal and external maintenance and repair work will begin across multiple areas of the campus. At the same time, road resurfacing will take place on the section of Mányoki Street between Orlay Street and Ménesi Street. This section will be closed to vehicle traffic during the works.

The maintenance and repair work, scheduled to last for four weeks, will cover the following areas: 

  • demolition and restoration of the retaining wall at the outdoor sports field 

  • repair of the paving in the parking lot 

  • air handling system maintenance 

  • maintenance of external sunshades 

  • cleaning of exterior windows 

  • repair of interior floor coverings 

To ensure timely completion, work will take place Monday to Saturday, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The construction work may occasionally cause noise and dust. 

Restrictions and important information during the works: 

  • The outdoor sports field will be out of use. 

  • The parking lot will be inaccessible from May 19 to June 15 (it will serve as a staging area for the contractor). 

  • Classes from the Building K data room have been relocated to Salthouse until the end of the exam period. 

  • Classes in the Building J will not be affected. 

  • The operation of the Sports Center will not be affected. 

  • The construction area (around the sports field) will be cordoned off with tape/barriers, please exercise caution when passing nearby! 

At the same time, road resurfacing will be carried out on Mányoki Street between Orlay Street and Ménesi Road. As a result, for approximately eight weeks, this section of the road will be closed to vehicular traffic and parking will not be possible. The campus building will remain accessible on foot during this period.
