Changes in the composition of the foundation maintaining Corvinus

At its most recent meeting, the Board of Trustees of the Maecenas Universitatis Corvini Foundation, which maintains Corvinus University of Budapest, acknowledged the resignation of Chair of the Board Zsolt Hernádi and Board Member József Váradi. The Board did not nominate new members and elected György Bacsa as its new Chair.
The filling of the vacant positions will be decided by the new founder’s rights holder. There is no obstacle to the exercise of the foundation’s governing competencies affecting the operation of Corvinus – decisions and measures necessary for the start of the 2026/27 academic year, the preparation of the 2027 admission procedure, the disbursement of this year’s operational funding, and the planning of next year’s budget can all be made without restriction.
At the meeting, the Board approved:
- Senate Resolution SZ-52/2025/2026 (16 June 2026) on the list of programmes to be launched in the 2027/2028 academic year, together with the related financing table.
- Senate Resolution SZ-46/2025/2026 (16 June 2026) on the amendment of the Student Fees and Benefits Regulations (Part 4 of the Academic and Examination Regulations) in Hungarian and English, with the provision that if the legal environment affecting tuition fees changes, the regulations must be reviewed and amended accordingly.
Under the forthcoming legal framework governing public-interest asset management foundations performing public tasks, which is expected to enter into force soon, the current structure will cease to exist no later than 1 August 2027.
