Change in the Date of the Evacuation Drill for the Main Building

The evacuation drill originally scheduled for Thursday, November 6 in the Main Building will not take place. Instead, it will be held on Friday, November 7, between 12:00 and 14:00.
Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

The schedule of the evacuation drills in the other university educational buildings remains unchanged.

Holding evacuation drills will help us prepare for a possible real emergency, while allowing us to meet our legal obligations. During the exercise, you will get familiar with the fire alarm, evacuation routes from your workplace, emergency exits leading to the outside, and, after leaving the building, the assembly point. During the evacuation drill, you will also practise how to leave the building as quickly as possible and through the shortest possible route in the event of a fire alarm.

In the event of a fire alarm, sirens will sound and you must immediately stop working – or stop whatever activity you are doing – and leave the room you are in:

  • from the upper floors, you must go to the assembly point by using the staircases and the emergency exits leading to the outside;

  • from the ground floor, you must go to the assembly point by using the emergency exits leading to the outside;

  • from the basement, you must go to the assembly point by using the stairs leading to the ground floor and the emergency exits leading to the outside.

The direction of escape will be marked by escape route luminaries.

Assembly point during evacuation for each building:

  • Main Building: the park in front of the Sóház (Salt House).

  • Sóház (Salt House): the west side of the Main building (the side towards the Danube).

  • BuildingC: under the arcades, 15 metres from the entrance.

  • Gellért Campus: the sports ground.

During evacuation, you must not wait near the walls and entrances of buildings – in all cases, you must go to the assembly point. During a real incident, staying in the immediate vicinity of buildings may be dangerous for you and you may restrict the intervention of firefighting units.

A drill may be considered successful if all persons in a building – be it the University’s own employees, students, or employees of external specialist companieshave left the building within the standard evacuation time limit (8 minutes).

In the event of a fire alarm, lifts will not work, so you are requested not to attempt to use them during a drill or in a real situation!

The drills will take place on the following dates:

  • Sóház (Salthouse): November 03, 2025, between 12.00 pm -14:00 pm.

  • Gellért Campus: November 04, 2025, between 12.00 pm -14:00 pm.

  • C Building: November 05, 2025, between 12.00 pm -14:00 pm.

  • Main Building: November 07, 2025, between 12.00 pm -14:00 pm.

Thank you for your co-operation!
