The event brought together students from seven universities across Central and Eastern Europe to develop innovative solutions addressing sustainability challenges in the fashion industry. Following the opening speeches by Judit Nagy, Vice-Rector of Corvinus University of Budapest, and Anikó Miszné Korenchy from the Hungarian National CEEPUS Office, participants presented their projects to an international jury. The programme also featured a roundtable discussion on sustainable fashion moderated by Dr. László Kökény, Head of the Department of Tourism.

A total of nine teams competed in the Green Hackathon. After a day of presentations, the teams of the University of Zagreb and Széchenyi István University advanced to the final round. Following a highly competitive debate, the jury awarded first place to the University of Zagreb team.

The event also included a charity clothing collection for a rural school and the families of its pupils, reflecting the social responsibility aspect of the initiative.

The Green Hackathon was organized by Dr. Krisztina Keller, Petra Berényi, and Márton Áron Áder. At the closing ceremony, it was announced that the 3rd Green Hackathon will be hosted by the University of Zagreb in 2027.
