“Brain First”: Think First, Only Then Turn to AI — Portfolio Interviewed Róbert Pintér

Róbert Pintér is a sociologist, a researcher of information society and an Associate Professor at Corvinus University of Budapest. He has been studying the social impacts of digitalisation for more than twenty-five years and has recently been focusing on AI.

Artificial intelligence is transforming our lives, as well as our relationship with power and reality. Deepfake hoaxes breed mistrust, fake news undermines the reputation of institutions and influential figures, and our thinking falls prey to AI-generated content.  Among other things, the conversation reveals what we can do to prevent the loss of our cognitive abilities, how AI can be used in learning and research, and what distinguishes healthy scepticism from paranoia.
