BKIK’s KUUBE product development programme for university partnership closed

At the final event on 22 May 2025, the student teams presented their developments on the smart-brick product concept, covering design, materials technology, manufacturing and marketing. The presentations highlighted how surface solutions can ensure the slip resistance and durability of a solar shelter without hindering the efficient operation of the solar panels. The teams also produced functional and visual designs, taking into account the needs of potential target markets. They also looked at which materials could be used in marine or oceanic conditions, with particular attention to accident prevention and durability requirements.
The professional partner of the project was Kuube Hungary Kft, whose founder, Máté Gallai actively supported the students’ work.
The presentations were evaluated by a professional jury, consisting of:
-
Dr. Péter Horák, Head of the Department of Machine and Product Design at the BME,
-
Máté Gallai, founder of Kuube,
-
Dr. Gábor Körtélyesi, Assistant Professor (BME),
-
Dr. Attila Petheő, Associate Professor (Corvinus),
-
László Trautmann, Vice President, Youth Entrepreneurship Association.
The participating students received certificates in recognition of their work.
The programme will further strengthen cooperation between technical and business-oriented higher education institutions, as well as between universities and businesses, contributing to the development of a knowledge-based economy.
