If you often ruin a study streak with “just one quick scroll,” out! was made for you. Corvinus Business and Management students Albert Trauttwein and Lőrinc Mihály Nagy, together with Gáspár András Juhász from Pázmány Péter Catholic University, created the app to help you manage your screen time and stay focused, especially during intense periods like exam season.
Launched in December 2024, the app quickly took off: more than 20,000 users have already joined, and partners include Myprotein, Libri, EFOTT and Munch.
So how does out! help you?
-
You set a focus timer (5–120 minutes)
Once you lock your screen, the app tracks your offline time. If you unlock your phone or leave the app, the timer stops and you lose points.
-
You earn credits for every offline minute
The longer you stay off your phone, the more credits you collect.
-
You can redeem your credits for coupons
Your hard-earned points can be exchanged for discounts from out!’s partner brands.
-
You track your progress
You can see how much time you’ve spent offline and compare your results with others. If you love a good challenge, this will keep you motivated.
The team has already racked up an impressive list of achievements: 3rd place at the Corvinus X Black Belt Idea Competition, 1st place in the Design Terminal Incubator Program, and 1st place at the Social Impact Award.
If focusing feels extra difficult lately, give out! a try. It might be exactly what you need to finally study the way you’ve always planned.
