Among the Sharks in its March 12 broadcast, they witnessed a program-historical moment, as all five Sharks invested in the business of our students.

Our students’ food rescue business brought the special Highlights of Hungary award at the end of February, but now the young students can claim another success. Among the Sharks in its March 12 broadcast, they witnessed a program-historical moment, as all five Sharks invested in the business of our students.

Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

The main characters of the show, ie sharks:

  • Tomán Szabina, owner of the Hungarian Tomán Diet,
  • Levente Balogh, owner-president of Szentkirályi-Magyarország Kft.,
  • Péter Balogh angel investor,
  • András Moldován Jack’s Burger restaurant chain and owner of Animalsoft Animal Husbandry Software Development Company,
  • István Lakatos, Managing Director of Bravogroup Holding.

Munch, represented by Albert Wettstein and Kirill Perepelica, provides a solution to an everyday food problem. Plenty of good quality food that can no longer be sold ends up in a trash bin. Via their app called Munch, their catering partners – with a minimum discount of 40%, typically before closing – offer for sale even the perfect quality but leftover food. Customers can pick up a surprise package for a particular catering unit at the store, from which the company receives a bonus. The sharks liked the company so much that original offer (5% stake for HUF 15 million) was distributed among themselves on the initiative of András Moldován, so all five sharks came in for 3-3 million forints in exchange for a 1-1% ownership!

Congratulations to our students and good luck!
