Our men’s basketball team won the regular season in the western group 

Most of the excitement came from the top match of the Western Group. In the final session of the match, Mosonmagyaróvár was still leading by 21 points, but Közgáz turned the game around with a terrific finish and a half-court triple when the buzzer went off.

Events in the last minute of the match: 

The home team fouled immediately after a bad action, 4 seconds before the end, Hágen, who had been playing well and useful until then, missed his penalty. Bence Pfandler got the ball and, after two dribbles, shot the ball from the opening circle just before the buzzer went off with a two-handed passing move. It then fell into the basket of Mosonmagyaróvár, thus turning the game around. 

After the rare basket, incredible scenes took place: first the Közgáz substitutes, then the home fans from the stands ran to the court, fell on the neck of the player shooting the winning basket, who then just ‘escaped’ to receive a hug from a proud mother after a match that was a great promotion of the university championship. 

Next, we will play the 4th place in the Eastern group for getting into the final four. Our opponent will be the winner of the ELTE-BME match next Tuesday.
