Alumni from a wide range of graduation years—from the 1980s up to last year—gathered at the Faculty Club on Friday, February 20, for the Accounting Alumni Evening. At the beginning of the event, János Lukács, Head of Department, gave a welcome speech recalling important moments in the university’s history. After László Péter Lakatos offered his greetings, a champagne toast followed.
The accounting faculty also prepared a slideshow and an entertaining quiz about the program for the alumni. One of the highlights of the evening was the collective singing of the accounting anthems with guitar accompaniment (“Az ember csak tartozik meg követel…” and “Számvitel nélkül mit érek én…”). These songs, passed down orally from one generation of accounting students to the next, were originally created about twenty years ago, and the authors of the songs were also present at this year’s alumni event.
Buoyed by this year’s success, the accounting alumni reunion is planned to be held again next year.
