About body and soul – not just for women

2024-02-29 13:37:00

On the occasion of this year's Women's Day, we invite our students and colleagues - not only women, of course – to professional discussions and yoga sessions.

Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

This year, we are inviting our staff and students to three different programmes over three days to celebrate Women’s Day: in addition to discussing gender and intergenerational equality, we can also focus on maintaining individual body-mind balance, while again serving a good cause as a university community.

On 5 March (Tuesday), the Hungarian Business Leaders Forum and Corvinus will host a joint panel discussion where business leaders and academics will discuss how to promote and create gender and intergenerational equality in the workplace. The panel will discuss how to tackle the pay gap and how to support balanced decision-making at management level.

They will also discuss the key drivers of mental health in the workplace and how to improve the mental well-being of workers. The discussion will be held in English.

Date: 5 March 2024 (Tuesday) 14:30 – 16:00

Venue: Main Building, Aula

On the morning of 6 March (Wednesday), we invite all those who would like to start the day refreshed and stress-free to a joint AdniJóga session. Together we will try yoga exercises, breathing techniques and relaxation techniques that can help us to overcome the difficulties of everyday life.

There is no need to change your clothes for this session, the exercises will be done standing or sitting on a chair, so no yoga mat will be needed. The language of the class will be English or Hungarian, depending on the participants.

Participation in the class will also support a good cause: AdniJóga is a social enterprise that aims to bring the tranquility of yoga to people from disadvantaged backgrounds. This charitable cause sponsors 6 additional charity classes, so that children in care, children living in poverty, mothers in transitional care or mothers with a disabled child can exercise regularly with the help of professional yoga teachers.

Date: 6 March 2024 (Wednesday) 8.30-9.30 a.m.

Venue: Corvinus Faculty Club

On 7 March (Thursday) in the afternoon, Adrienn Kacsur, relaxation practitioner, psychologist and Mindset Psychology specialist, will give a presentation on how to recognise the signs of burnout, how to pay more attention to our mental and physical health in everyday life, and how to best connect with ourselves and manage our tasks.

Date: 7 March 2024 (Thursday) 15.30-17.00
