From WU Vienna to Industry Day: Insights from the DSG Academic Excursion

In May, students from the German-language Management Training Programs (DSG) at Corvinus University had the honour of spending four wonderful days in Austria on a study trip, made possible by the generous support of the Austrian-Hungarian Action Foundation.

The experience was enriching both academically and socially. Alongside valuable professional insights, we also enjoyed a lot of fun and memorable moments throughout the trip.

During the study trip, the group visited WU Vienna, Austria’s most prestigious business university. Students had the chance to explore the modern campus and gain valuable insights into the university’s master’s programs. A heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Bernard Böhm for offering us a glimpse into academic life at WU and for the warm welcome!

The group also enjoyed visiting another excellent institution: the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria (FH Oberösterreich) at its Steyr campus. After a lovely sightseeing walk, Prof. FH Mátyás Gritsch guided us through the campus and shared information about the various study opportunities.

The study trip was also rich in professional content. We were honoured to be invited by the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce to attend the 2024 Industry Day in Linz, where we enjoyed a series of insightful presentations on key economic topics, including the evolving role of artificial intelligence. We left with a wealth of helpful information. A sincere thank-you for the kind invitation!

To conclude our trip, we joined the vibrant ViennaUP startup festival, organised by the City of Vienna. We were inspired by a dynamic mix of workshops, lectures, film screenings, and the festival’s unique atmosphere. The event was full of innovative and creative ideas and left a lasting impression on all of us.

We gained a great deal of valuable knowledge during these four fantastic days. Our sincere thanks go to the Austria-Hungary Action Foundation for their generous support, which made this experience possible.

We are truly grateful for the opportunity and look forward to further strengthening our cross-border academic and professional cooperation.
