The Corvinus University of Budapest hopes to find a satisfying solution to the situation surrounding Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe funds as soon as possible, but is ready to provide student travel funding for the 2024/25 academic year, if necessary, with the support of the Maecenas Universitatis Corvini Foundation.

Corvinus’ strategic goal is to internationalise the university community, which includes the participation of both faculty, researchers and students in mobility programmes and international cooperation, while maintaining their national ties. Corvinus is among the universities that have made the most of the Erasmus+ programme, with around 500 students per academic year gaining experience abroad with EU support, giving them a competitive edge for future entry into the labour market.

Corvinus considers the knowledge, skills and contacts acquired by students through the programme to be an exceptional resource that can be used for the benefit of Hungary, and therefore, together with the Maecenas Universitatis Corvini Foundation, the university’s funding body, Corvinus University of Budapest has reviewed its financial scope and, on this basis, if the European Union and Hungary fail to reach an agreement on the funding of the Erasmus programme, Corvinus University of Budapest will provide its students with the necessary financial resources for travel and residence for the 2024/25 academic year.

Corvinus has a strong international presence, cooperating with more than 250 partner universities on 5 continents, offering a number of double degree programmes and, uniquely in Hungary, has been awarded two international institutional accreditations by the most prestigious international higher education rating organisations.

Corvinus University of Budapest hopes that the situation will be resolved in a satisfying way as soon as possible and that resources will continue to be available to teachers and students at Hungarian universities.
