Corvinus and the BME held the final of the joint ideas competition with the support of BKIK

The final pitch event of the joint idea competition of Corvinus University of Budapest and Budapest University of Technology and Economics was successfully held on 21 May with the participation of 14 teams and more than 70 students.

Mixed teams of engineering and economics students presented their development ideas and business models. Several of the concepts presented were at an advanced stage of development, so the presentations could be evaluated not only at the idea level, but also at the prototype or near-market stage. Dr. Attila Petheő (Head of Department, Associate Professor, Corvinus), Dr. Tibor Kovács (Associate Professor, BME) and Dr. László Trautmann (Vice President, Youth Entrepreneurship Stimulation Association, BME) were the judges and professional coordinators of the competition.

Due to the large number of teams, the presentations were divided into two sessions. The best performing teams in each section were:

Section 1 winners:

1st place: Habit Circle – A social media app that supports the development and maintenance of good habits.Team members: Ábel Fosztó-Bartha (BME), Marcell Beréndi (Corvinus), Lilla Plasek (Corvinus)

2nd place: Triton – University community and information application.Team members: Balázs Németh (BME), Harold Carlaw Kelen (Corvinus), Bence Fuksz (Corvinus), Domonkos Kui (Corvinus), Sámuel Tóth (Corvinus), Tamás Träger (Corvinus)

3rd place: Acoustication – Innovative voice-driven authentication solution.Team members: Sebestyén Zsolt (BME), Barnabás Tóth (BME), Alex Szerémi(Corvinus), Geri Száday (Corvinus), Ábel Vermes (Corvinus)

Section 2 winners:

1st place: ForkCast – Custom meal planning web application.Team members: Lilla Csutora (BME), Annamária Lukács (Corvinus), Dorottya Maróty (Corvinus), Virág Mikolás (Corvinus), Réka Nikolényi (Corvinus), Flóra Somlyai (Corvinus), Zoltán Vass (Corvinus)

2nd place.: CookingMate  – Community recipe application. Team members: Máté Bereczki (BME), Dóra Koltai (Corvinus), Hanna Szirtes (Corvinus), Vilmos Lefánti (Corvinus, Dominik Vadász (Corvinus), Dorka Sipos (Corvinus)

3rd place: CheckmateClub – A community app for seamless online chess between friends. Team members: Dániel Tóth Marcell (BME), Fanni Kincses (Corvinus), Gréta Horváth (Corvinus), Eszter Jakus (Corvinus), Maxim Mesits (Corvinus), Júlia Batári (Corvinus)

In addition to the experience gained and new contacts made during the competition, the winning teams also received a cash prize offered by the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
