Despite their shared historical legacies, we assume that these countries adopt divergent approaches to transposing the Directive into national law. The study assesses how pre-existing pay differentials, national attitudes towards gender equality, and the GPG, as well as the actions and positions of key stakeholders, shape the implementation process.
Using a comparative research framework, the analysis addresses two main objectives: (1) to examine how Czechia, Hungary, and Slovenia are transposing the EU Pay Transparency Directive into national legislation; and (2) to identify the factors influencing this process, including legal frameworks, institutional capacities, socio-economic contexts, and the roles, competencies, motivations, and positions of key actors with regard to gender equality and the Directive.
