Would you like to play an active role in addressing environmental and social challenges, with the aim of building an eco-friendly and more conscious future? Would you like to connect with like-minded students and organizations, share knowledge, and organize joint initiatives?

Join the Corvinus Changemakers Circle! We launched the group last academic year with the aim of bringing together students, organized by the Dean’s Office for Sustainability. Initially, we expected primarily to attract representatives from student organizations and specialized colleges, but now anyone can join the group, either as an individual or as a representative of an informal community.

Our first meeting of the year will take place on 10 November, when we will begin our collaborative work with a fun workshop led by our doctoral student, Tamara Csordás. For her doctoral research, Tamara is examining the thoughts, knowledge, attitudes and experiences of 18–25-year-olds in Hungary regarding sustainability and climate change.

During the workshop, we will explore what sustainability means in everyday life, how young people think about climate change, and the role that individual and community decisions can play initiating positive change.

At the end of the session, each participant will have the opportunity to share their ideas and actions for 2027, and we hope to find allies for these initiatives among the group members.

The aim of this initiative is to connect students and groups who are committed to sustainability and social responsibility, and who are eager to take action on these issues. We want to provide a space where our students can meet and collaborate, launching self-organized initiatives that will make our university and broader community more sustainable.

The Dean’s Office for Sustainability is acting as a catalyst in this process by creating a space for interaction and providing professional support. However, the ultimate goal is for new, transformative initiatives to emerge organically from the students’ needs. In the future, we plan to organize regular meetings around topics and focus areas selected by the students, thereby fostering self-organization.

If you are unable to attend the above-mentioned workshop but would like to join the group in the long term, you can indicate your interest by filling out the questionnaire.

We welcome any additional ideas or direct feedback at dean.sustainability@uni-corvinus.hu.
