Germany after the 2025 election: a new beginning in (economic) policies? – DSG Professional Day 2025
On 02 April 2025, the German-language Management Training Centre (DSG) at Corvinus University invites university citizens and external stakeholders to a German-language symposium focusing on the economic and political challenges following the 2025 elections in Germany. The aim is to discuss key issues of German-Hungarian economic cooperation.
Programme:
17:00 – 17:15: Opening
17:15 – 17:45: Academic lecture: “Possible effects of the energy transition process”
Prof. Jarko Fidrmuc (LMU Munich, Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen) will give an academic lecture on the challenges of renewable energies and the financing of energy transition. He will show that traditional financial institutions often favour fossil fuels, while financial markets can take greater risks and support green investments. He will also address the dependence on rare earth metals that are essential for the energy transition, and the geopolitical challenges posed by China’s market dominance. The solution lies in better support for alternative energy sources and the development of environmentally friendly technologies.
17:45-18:30: Panel discussion
The panel discussion will focus on: “Germany after the 2025 election- A new beginning in (economic) policies?”
German and Hungarian experts will discuss how to organise political and economic measures to tackle challenges such as climate change, dependencies and economic transformation after the 2025 elections in Germany.
- Bettina Müller, Member of the German Bundestag since 2013
- Prof. Jarko Fidrmuc, LMU Munich, Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen

18:30-19:00: Company presentations

From 19:00: Networking
After the lectures and discussions, a reception will be held at the Faculty Club, where representatives from the worlds of science, politics and business have the opportunity to meet. The reception is sponsored by the DAAD.
External and internal guests, including students, are cordially invited. The German-language event is a side event of the Corvinus Career & Business Festival. Our German-speaking corporate partners will also have a stand at the university on 02 April.
