Chloe Thurston is an associate professor of Political Science and a faculty fellow at the Institute for Policy Research at Northwestern University. While at the Academy, she is working on her second single-authored book, Investing in America: The Politics and Political Development of an Asset-Based Society. The project examines the political development and implications of the rise of mass investment culture in the US.

In her lecture, she will give an overview of the causes and consequences of the rise of mass investment in the United States and its relationship to political party building and political culture from the mid-1960s through today’s debates about cryptocurrency. Then after, the focus would be primarily idea exchanges on potentially researching such topics in the European or CEE context.
