Tom Kemeny, Professor at the University of Toronto, will give a lecture on October 19, jointly organized by ANETI and CCL.
2026.10.19. 13:00 – 2026.10.19. 14:00
Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

Join us for a hybrid seminar with Tom Kemeny, Professor at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy at the University of Toronto, for a talk titled The Geography of Affluence: Why Spatial Wealth Inequality Matters.

The talk explores how wealth inequality across American communities exceeds income inequality, and what this means for people living in less affluent places. A particular focus is on the relationship between community wealth and cognitive health among older adults.  The findings suggest that greater community wealth is associated with a lower relative risk of cognitive impairment, with particularly pronounced associations in the poorest communities and among groups more dependent on locally funded public goods and services.
