CIAS trip to Lake Balaton
CIAS has started a brand-new program for its research fellows and members: in each semester a one-day trip will be organized somewhere in Hungary to help our colleagues get to know each other better not just in a formal, but in an informal way, too.On 27th May CIAS research fellows, research, and administrative staff and even some of our Alumni visited Lake Balaton. We departed early in the morning, and our first stop was at Balatonfüred where we took a long walk around the shore and among the historic buildings of the town under the guidance of the dean of CIAS. After a great lunch we proceeded to Tihany to visit and get to know the history of the Abbey and see the lake from a bird’s-eye view. Back on our way to Budapest we took the ferry to Szántód and spent a few nice hours at Siófok as well. All the participants had a great time and all agreed that such events really help to make a great atmosphere for further work at the office.
