School closures under Covid put lower primary school pupils back half a semester

Lower primary school pupils lost 15-16 weeks in reading, 10-11 weeks in science and 9 weeks in maths, according to a recent study on the short- and long-term effects of the Covid-related kindergarten and school closures by researchers from Corvinus and the University of Szeged .
