The mission of the International Advisory Board is to serve as a dynamic bridge between Corvinus University and the global academic community, enhancing the University’s international embeddedness and contributing to the realization of its strategic ambitions. By channeling cutting-edge academic trends, fostering interdisciplinary collaborations, and sharing globally recognized expertise, the International Advisory Board supports strategies that advance academic excellence and innovation.

The International Advisory Board will work in close collaboration with the International Corporate & Institutional Council, creating an exclusive platform for the exchange of ideas and fostering synergy between academic leaders and industry experts. Together, these councils aim to position Corvinus University at the forefront of global higher education, shaping a future-ready academic environment that equips the next generation of scholars and professionals for success in an increasingly interconnected world.

Dr Gunther Friedl

Managing Director Dieter Schwarz Stiftung | Former Dean, TUM School of Management

Dr Gunther Friedl is a Professor of Business Administration and the former Dean of the TUM School of Management at the Technical University of Munich. Under his leadership, the school achieved Triple Crown accreditation and expanded to over 7,000 students. He has co-authored several textbooks on management accounting and corporate valuation. Dr Friedl has consulted for companies like Apple, BMW, and Siemens, and advises European governments on corporate governance and valuation. His contributions to education have earned him multiple awards, including the Best Lifetime Teaching Award (2022).

Dr Wendy Loretto

Professor of Organisational Behaviour | Chair, AMBA | University of Edinburgh Business School

Dr Wendy Loretto is a distinguished academic leader and expert in organisational behaviour. She is a Professor of Organisational Behaviour at the University of Edinburgh Business School and served as Dean from 2016 to 2024. Her research focuses on age and employment, particularly how gender, health, and ageing shape workplace experiences and retirement decisions. Beyond academia, Dr Loretto holds key governance roles, including Chair of AMBA & BGA, Trustee of the Aberdeen Financial Fairness Trust, and Trustee of The Board for the Advancement of Management Studies (SAMS). She is an Associate Editor of Employee Relations, and member of the UKRI External Advisory Board on Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion. Her leadership and research continue to influence inclusive workplace policies globally.

Dr Andrew Karolyi

Charles Field Knight Dean, Cornell SC Johnson College of Business

Dr Andrew Karolyi is an internationally recognized scholar specializing in global financial markets. He serves as the Charles Field Knight Dean at the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business and holds the Harold Bierman, Jr. Distinguished Professorship in Management. Dr Karolyi has published extensively in top-tier finance and economics journals and authored influential books, including Cracking the Emerging Markets Enigma (2015). Beyond academia, he is deeply involved in global financial governance and sustainability initiatives, serving as Chair of the Board of Directors for Responsible Research in Business and Management (RRBM) and Vice Chair of the UN's Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).

Dr Christine Moser

Professor of Sustainable Organizing, Vrije University of Amsterdam | Organizational Theory & Technology

Dr Christine Moser is a Professor of Sustainable Organizing at Vrije University of Amsterdam and Head of the Organizational Theory section. Her research explores knowledge flows in social networks, the role of technology in organizing, and sustainable forms of organizing. She has published in leading journals, including Academy of Management Review, MIT Sloan Management Review, Human Relations, and Organization Studies. She is the incoming Chair of the European Group of Organizational Studies (EGOS) and has served in editorial roles, including Associate Editor for Academy of Management Learning & Education. She has contributed to academic leadership by co-organizing the 2021 EGOS Colloquium and collaborating with the Academy of Management’s Organization & Management Theory Division.

Dr Paul Shrivastava

Professor, Penn State University | Co-President, The Club of Rome

Dr Paul Shrivastava is a Professor of Management & Organizations at Penn State University and Co-President of The Club of Rome since 2023. He specializes in environmental science, corporate sustainability, and strategic planning. From 2017 to 2022, he served as Chief Sustainability Officer at Penn State, leading major sustainability efforts. He previously held leadership roles at Concordia University and ICN Business School, founding the UNESCO Chair in Arts and Science for implementing the SDGs. Dr Shrivastava advises organizations such as Hiroshima University’s NERPS and Corvinus University’s Future Potentials Observatory, contributing to global discussions on sustainability and responsible business practices.

Dr Kamshat Tussupova

Rector, Kazakh National University of Water Management and Irrigation | Expert in Integrated Water Resources Management

Dr Kamshat Tussupova is an expert in water resources engineering and public health, serving as Rector of the Kazakh National University of Water Management and Irrigation. She holds a PhD in Water Resources Engineering from Lund University (2016) and MSc degrees from institutions in Hungary, Kazakhstan, and the USA. Since 2008, she has worked as a researcher at Lund University and was an Expert in WASH Programs for UNICEF in 2020. Dr Tussupova previously served as Vice-Rector of Karaganda Medical University and an Expert for Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Health and Social Development. Her work focuses on sustainable water management, public health, and policy advising.

Dr Frédérique Vidal

Professor, Université Nice-Sophia Antipolis | Former French Minister for Higher Education, Research, and Innovation

Dr Frédérique Vidal is a Professor of Biochemistry, Molecular and Cell Biology at Université Nice-Sophia Antipolis. She served as France’s Minister for Higher Education, Research, and Innovation from 2017 to 2022. Prior to her ministerial role, she was President of Université Nice-Sophia Antipolis (2012–2017) and Dean of the College of Sciences (2009–2012). Dr Vidal has contributed significantly to international education initiatives, including the European Tempus program, supporting higher education reforms. In recognition of her contributions, she was named Chevalier of the French Legion of Honour in 2013. She continues shaping education policy, research strategies, and academic leadership across Europe and beyond.

Dr Zhihong Yi

Professor, Renmin University of China | Former Vice President, Renmin University

Dr Zhihong Yi is a Professor of Finance at Renmin University of China (RUC) and previously served as Vice President of RUC (2012–2017) and Dean of the School of Business Administration (2005–2014). She holds a PhD, MA, and BA in Business Economics and Finance from RUC and specialises in corporate finance, capital markets, and consumption economics. Dr Yi has authored multiple publications, including Consumption Economics (4th Ed., 2022). She has received awards such as the Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis Advisor Award (2022) and the Excellent Teaching Achievement Award (2016). She currently contributes to China’s academic and policy landscape through key national committee roles.

Dr Veneta Andonova Zuleta

Associate Professor, Universidad de los Andes | Former Dean, School of Management

Dr Veneta Andonova Zuleta is an expert in strategy, entrepreneurship, and innovation in emerging markets. She is an Associate Professor at Universidad de los Andes School of Management and served as Dean of Faculty from 2019 to 2023. She holds a PhD and MSc from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain, and has taught at leading business schools in Latin America, including ITAM (Mexico) and the American University of Bulgaria. In 2024, she joined Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, as a Visiting Professor. She co-founded the Emerging Markets Research Network and authored Multilatinas: Strategies for Internationalization (2017) and Entrepreneurial Ecosystems in Unexpected Places (2019).
