Budapest, 23 September 2025 – Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of today’s most significant civilizational turning points, providing a strategic advantage to countries and organizations that are able to apply it responsibly and effectively. In his keynote address, Dr. László Palkovics, Chairman of the Foundation for Széchenyi István University, emphasized: “Artificial intelligence is not merely a technological innovation, but a matter of national strategy. Those who are able to integrate it consciously and responsibly today will gain long-term economic, defense, and social advantages.”

In conjunction with the event, a volume titled Specific Examination of the Impacts of Artificial Intelligence was published under the auspices of the Military National Security Service, featuring significant contributions from lecturers and researchers of Corvinus University of Budapest.

Corvinus research and results

These studies demonstrate that Corvinus experts not only establish theoretical frameworks but also develop practical recommendations that strengthen Hungary’s competitiveness and national security preparedness.

A central role in organizing the event was played by Dr. Péter Bagó, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Corvinus University of Budapest and a board member of the Artificial Intelligence Coalition. As he put it: “Researching and responsibly applying artificial intelligence is not only a technological issue, but also a social and security task in which the scientific community has a key role.”

The shared message of the volume and the conference is that integrating AI represents not only a technological shift, but also a societal and economic transformation. The work of Corvinus researchers shows that Hungary’s scientific community is actively contributing to the creation of the strategic frameworks of the future—thereby strengthening the country’s position in the Euro-Atlantic region.
