Be a local patriot — it’s harvest time!

Because of the phylloxera disaster, the once‑thriving viticulture disappeared — yet it still lives on in the surrounding street names: Bakator Street, Szüret Street, Badacsonyi Road, Ménesi Road, Tarcali Street, Vincellér Street, and many others. 

One of the aims of the Gellért Green project, launched at the Gellért Campus, is to build connections with the neighbourhood’s communities and to integrate the building into the local environment. This goal was fulfilled brilliantly: at the lecture and the music‑and‑dance programme that followed, almost only local patriots and our neighbours from the Finnish Embassy were present. Counselor Kaisa Leidy, Consul Aino Ronkainen, and Dóra Peregi not only listened to the lecture with great interest but joined the dancing with remarkable enthusiasm. 

Although the long‑awaited rain forced us from the terrace into the Lounge, the atmosphere remained excellent. Musicians from the Liszt Academy and the folk dancers of Corvinus University played a key role in creating this lively mood. Professor Bisztray is also happy to give his English‑language presentation in Hungarian for our students.
